Jonathan is a leading technical innovator with a strong 25 year track record in building companies from scratch within the broadcast media and cyber security industries. He is passionate about creating and developing innovative technical solutions that solve real world problems and is always looking for ways that technology can transform and revolutionise industry. 

Jonathan sold his company Connect TV to Arqiva PLC in 2012. As Founder and CTO, he built the UK’s first hybrid TV channel enabling content providers to gain access to the Freeview audience in a cost-effective way. He stayed at Arqiva as Head of Innovation until 2014 when he left to become an angel investor in a portfolio of start up companies.  In 2019, Jonathan and Callum Wilson formed a joint venture with DTG Testing, an accredited test laboratory for CE equipment. The new venture, called SafeShark, won the DCMS’s Grant Program for Consumer IoT Assurance and in 2021 launched its assurance scheme. SafeShark now provides a combination of expert assessment and automated, objective testing through its unique Intercept test platform.
