James Davenport

Hebron & Medlock Professor of Information Technology, University of Bath
James Davenport is Hebron & Medlock Professor of Information Technology at the University of Bath, where he teaches and researches Cybersecurity, advises on the University’s cybersecurity, and was incident commander in the most recent cyberattack on the university. He helped draft the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists advice to the City on the Cybersecurity of Working from Home in 2020. He is on the BSI, European and ISO-IEC committees on AI standardisation, particularly looking at the Cybersecurity of AI. He has been a Vice-President (Academy) of the British Computer Society, is on the Fellows Technical Advisory Group, and its Quantum Group, where he advises on post-quantum security.
