Andrew Elliot works for the UK Government's Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology. He is responsible for cyber skills policy, cyber innovation policy, and the government's work to ensure that technology is built secure by design. While in post he has overseen the setting up of the UK Cyber Security Council as the UK's independent professional body for the cyber workforce. His cyber skills program has contributed to reducing the shortage of cyber workers by 75% in the UK over the last 3 years. His innovation program has supported the UK cyber sector to achieve an 11% compound annual growth rate since 2015. He has expertise in digital infrastructure, online regulation, cybersecurity, and data protection
