Greater Manchester has nurtured homegrown digital security companies including Avecto, Hedgehog, NCC Group and Secarma, and has attracted established cyber divisions of global defence companies such as Raytheon, BAE Systems AI and Northrop Grumman as well as consulting firms including KPMG to establish itself as a city committed to cyber security innovation and collaboration. The city centre is also home to the UK’s government security agency GCHQ – placing Greater Manchester at the heart of the nation’s IT security effort
Four members of Greater Manchester’s Cyber Security Advisory Group will exhibit, highlighting how Greater Manchester is doing digital differently and leveraging our expertise in areas like cyber security. The group, hosted by Greater Manchester Combined Authority, reflects the cyber security capabilities of the region and drives forward inclusive economic growth for the city-region and the North.
- MIDAS - the inward investment promotion agency for Manchester, with a strategic aim to secure significant levels of new investment for the city region to create and safeguard jobs. MIDAS, Manchester’s economic development agency, provides free, bespoke and confidential support to cyber security companies looking to relocate to or expand in the city region.
- DiSH - offers startups and growing digital security businesses access to mentors and coaching, dedicated growth programmes and a new industry accelerator. At the expo, Barclays Eagle Labs and lead academic partner Lancaster University will showcase how DiSH is supporting start-ups, corporates and individuals across Greater Manchester’s digital security ecosystem and is an key part of both Greater Manchester’s cyber ecosystem and the North West cyber corridor.
